Pamela Wiley, violinist and teacher, holds degrees from Carleton College in Minnesota and The American University in Washington, D.C. For the past 30 years, she maintained a private studio and directed a performing Suzuki Violin Group in Harrisburg, PA. Fifteen years ago, Ms. Wiley started the Central PA Suzuki String Institute now at Millersville College. She also founded and conducted the Junior Symphonia of Central PA and the Wednesday Club Youth Chamber Orchestra. Ms. Wiley has written several articles for the National Suzuki Journal. She is currently a contracted member of the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra and travels to Pennsylvania several times a year to perform with them. Ms. Wiley moved to the Charleston area to be near her two daughters: Sadie, Assistant Principal Viola of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, and Neva who sings with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra Choir and the Rob Taylor Singers. She loves the countryside of South Carolina and the beautiful sunny weather. In addition to making music, Ms. Wiley loves to write, knit, garden and fish. |
